TOM WALKER

Signed to Sony’s Relentless Records (home of Nadia Rose, Bryson Tiller and Professor Green), Tom Walker was born in Scotland and raised in Manchester.

Tom has spent the past few years honing his sound, part influenced by landing in a houseshare with twelve other musicians, all jamming together in their home-built, soundproofed studio. What has emerged from this environment is a distinctive, engaging sound that immediately conjures up comparisons with some of the seminal and brightest crossover singer/ songwriters to come out of the British Isles – Finley Quaye, Hozier and Ed Sheeran all spring to mind. Tom’s vocal has been described by Dan Cairns in the Sunday Times as bearing a resemblance to “Paulo Nutini’s sandpapered rasp and Amy Winehouse’s distinctive phonetics”.

2016 saw collaborations with Kojey Radical and Avelino, the latter of which lent his remixing talents to his own take of ‘Play Dead’ which saw support from both Annie Mac & MistaJam. ‘Play Dead’ also saw strong support from BBC Introducing in Manchester resulting in the track being added to the Radio 1 Playlist.

Earning his stripes playing gigs across the UK, including a current sold out headline tour, Tom has also supported Jake Bugg, Maverick Sabre, and Gallant, which bolstered a number of festivals in the summer of 2016 including The Great Escape and Live At Leeds, British Summer Time in Hyde Park and Secret Garden Party. Tom continues a strong start to 2017 with his first European Tour in Feb/March (incl. Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium), two BBC Introducing shows in London and Manchester, a return to Live at Leeds and soon to be announced May UK dates, first U.S. live dates and UK and EU festivals.

March sees the release of his debut EP, produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele).
