In celebration of the exhibition 'Still I Rise', we are throwing a party draped in velvet, art, music, and poetry.

Featuring:
Rattle
A duo from Nottingham featuring Katharine Brown and Theresa Wrigley, Rattle make hypnotic and fairly darn unique music with only two drumkits and vocals. Active since 2011, their songs have a remarkable way of burrowing into your brain via repetition and layered rhythms/melodies/vocal motifs. It’s textbook minimalism on one hand, but with a weird pop sensibility, and a bonus postpunk/no wave type feel. You can even dance to it if you like.

Susan
susan is a 19 year old queer musician, who is fascinated by and creates progressive synth music.
By sampling trap beats with airy synths, susan creates a sound that is undeniably pop, with references to trip hop and lyrics that describe the honesty of relationships between the millennial generation. 'Universal' is a track thats lighthearted and moveable, which always gets the crowd going at their gigs. With the release of this song, susan hoped to be able to move on from the sound that was created with 'acne' allowing a step in the direction of the upcoming mixtape, which delves deeper into a dark modern pop experience.

BABE PUNCH
Babe Punch are a young, newly emerging alternative four piece from Nottingham/Derby. Described as "frenzied pop punk" (Louder Than War), Babe Punch shaped their distinctive sound around grunge and punk influences, defined by their individual inspirations.
Their recent single 'CONTROL' has been described as "a lively, contagious statement of intent" (Clash magazine) and "one of the most impressive debut singles of the year" (Eudaemonia). CONTROL "explodes in less than two minutes of furious drums, distorted guitars and infectious choruses" (Indie+Tonic).

She Speaks UK
A poetry and performance collective promoting female/non-binary/femme identifying artists, hosted by Aoife O'Connor, Emerciana Desouza & Josephine Lewis.
