This new exhibition examines the history of children and young offenders in prison, from the 18th century to the current day. You will find out how children and young offenders have been punished from the 19th century to the present day and learn about:
late 18th and early 19th century reformatory schools and industrial schools
1907 borstals
1930s approved schools
1980s young offenders institutes
ASBOs, tagging and community sentences
Daily life for children and young offenders in prison today
