It's National Insect Week! Get up close and personal with the insects from our live Wild Space exhibits. You can help with feeding, learn some facts and even handle some of our insects.
Meet our Madagascan hissing cockroaches and Indian stick insects and glimpse our super-shy Mexican red-kneed tarantula - Delores.
Delores is a museum veteran and has been with us for over 17 years. Completely covered in hair and marked out by her bright red knees she is certainly colorful. Her hair makes her super sensitive to vibrations and can even be used as a defense mechanism when scared.
However - arachnophobes don't worry, as Delores will be sitting pretty in her case whilst our lovely staff share some fascinating spider facts.
