When Mrs Kay’s Progress class set out on a coach trip to Conway Castle in Wales, it is a celebration of the joys and pains of being fourteen and away from school. It also highlights the depressing empty future of these comprehensive no-hopers from the back streets of Liverpool, for whom a day out is as much as they can expect.T
