Newstead Abbey, formerly an Augustinian priory and the ancestral home of Lord Byron, is 25 minutes' drive away, while Creswell Crags, a limestone gorge with caves to explore, is a 30-minute drive away.
Chatsworth House -- the stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire that sits in 1800 acres of grounds and ornamental gardens -- is a 35-minute drive from the hotel, and Sherwood Forest (the legendary home of Robin Hood), Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall are within 35 minutes' drive.
