Be a Pilgrim for a Day ! The walk follows the Pilgrims’ Way leading to Canterbury where once the shrine of of Thomas Becket stood.

Join our Pilgrim for a Day Historical Hiking Tour.

This walk starts in Chilham following the Pilgrims’ Way leading to Canterbury where once the shrine of Thomas Becket stood and attracted pilgrims from all over the world.

It is a fantastic day out and a lovely way to arrive in Canterbury. Along the way you will see hop farms and oast houses and discover the charming English countryside. We will visit St Nicholas church and St Thomas’s well where Henry II paused before beginning his walk of penance into Canterbury. We will follow the pilgrims’ footsteps and pause at St Dunstan’s Church and Eastridge Hospital .

Our last stop is St. Thomas Catholic Church that contains relics of Thomas Becket. Free time to shop or visit Canterbury Cathedral before taking our train back to London. I will contact you before the event regarding the Cathedral visit and collect entrance fees as it needs to be pre-booked.

It's a small group tour lead by a qualified Blue Badge Guide . You can choose to meet us in Chilham or have your train tickets included meet us at St. Pancras train station .

Distance: 9 miles

What to bring: Hiking boots, snacks, water. Prepare for the weather with waterproof clothing or sunblock.

We will be taking a train from St Pancras International Station to Chilham and back from Canterbury to London
