BBC New Generation Artist and superb song singer bass-baritone Ashley Riches draws our Schubert portrait to a close along with acclaimed pianist Joseph Middleton. In the third concert of our collaboration with Leeds Lieder, Schwanengesang, Schubert’s swansong, and an exquisite exploration of love and loss, is paired with the genre’s first song cycle, Beethoven’s hymn to a distant beloved, An die ferne Geliebte, alongside a selection of songs by Haydn.
