TOWN MOUSE AND COUNTRY MOUSE: RELAXED PERFORMANCES
Event Dates
10:30am, Wed Dec 20th
3:00pm, Sat Dec 30th
About this Event
WHAT IS A RELAXED PERFORMANCE?
We offer performances that are more relaxed for all those who benefit from a show where loud noises are reduced, elements of surprise are kept to a minimum and moving around the auditorium is not a problem.
Relaxed performances are carefully created for people with learning disabilities and their families or carers so that everyone can enjoy the wonder of theatre at Nottingham Playhouse in an environment that is comfortable and supportive. The house lights will be partially up throughout and ‘chill-out’ areas will be available before, during and after a performance. If a familiarisation visit would be helpful, we would be very happy to accommodate this.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding familiarisation visits, wheelchair access and disabled parking, all you need to do is email [email protected].
ABOUT THE SHOW
“I’ve never been away from this farm. Not once! I’ve really never had an adventure. So maybe I should go?”
Town Mouse loves the rush and the buzz of the city. Country Mouse prefers the wide open fields and sweet, fresh air of the countryside. They’re so different it looks like they will never get along. And with a cat arriving on the scene, can they resolve their differences before it is too late?
Town Mouse and Country Mouse magically retells Aesop’s fable about the triumph of friendship and the joy of adventure. Lovingly adapted by Robin Kingsland (2016’s The Princess and The Frog), you’ll be transported into a beautifully miniature, mouse-sized world in a show packed full of action, music and singing, with plenty of chances to join in.
“A sweet yet thought-provoking tale about the importance of kindness, sharing, politeness and most of all, the unexpected rewards of keeping promises and making new friends.”
★★★★★ Mumsnet (The Princess and the Frog, 2016)
Age recommendation: 3 – 8 year olds and their grown ups
