About this Event

After the recent success of their single Beauty and the Beast, The Overtones will be releasing their brand new EP Happy Days on August 11th.

Following in the footsteps of other themed releases such as Good Ol’ Fashioned Christmas, Saturday Night at the Movies and Sweet Soul Music, the band’s latest themed offering consists of some of the biggest TV theme tunes in history, creating some serious nostalgia! As the name suggests, the lead track from the EP comes from the iconic American sitcom Happy Days; an energetic 50’s rockabilly track that showcases the band’s 5-part harmonies beautifully and encapsulates the playfulness of the group perfectly, setting the tone for the entire EP, which also includes unique renditions of the theme tunes from The Littlest Hobo, Golden Girls and Cheers.

Of the new EP the band said, “we originally did a YouTube video singing an acapella of ‘Thank You For Being a Friend” and the response online really blew us away . It was really lovely hearing nostalgic stories from people and fans who loved these old TV shows . It gave us the idea to record some more theme tunes that we all love and that we have special memories attached to . It took a while to agree on the final 4 as there are so many amazing theme tunes but the one’s we have chosen fit us like a glove vocally. We’re really excited for people to hear this EP and hopefully they will enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed recording them”

The Overtones have firmly established themselves as the number one vocal harmony group. Since breaking in 2010 with their debut Good Ol’ Fashioned Love, the group has established their reputation as an act with the unique ability to deliver consistently uplifting music infused with exquisitely crafted vocal harmonies. It’s no wonder that they have sold over a million records and had five top five albums.
