About this Event
Join us at the National Justice Museum for this free Education Showcase event celebrating the completion of the Creative Court UK project. This project is the most recent Outreach Education Syndicates project to be developed thanks to funding from the Museum Resilience Fund from Art Council England (ACE).
Outreach Education Syndicates’ (OES) is a model of best practice, that was developed by the National Justice Museum, for widening access to careers in the heritage sector and supporting the adaptive resilience of the Museum as it builds capacity to deliver outreach sessions. This model has been used to develop ‘Creative Court UK’, which offers education outreach provision to young people helping them to engage with key topics relating to the law and democracy using an artist-designed ‘pop-up courtroom’.
The Education Showcase will discuss the work conducted by three teams of volunteer Associates based at our learning sites in Nottingham, London and the North West between January 2017 and March 2018 and will examine the impact of delivering Public Legal Education in schools. The project was designed to develop the skills of adult participants from diverse backgrounds to become Education Associates, working to deliver high-quality learning sessions in schools across the UK.
Guests at the Education Showcase will see the resources developed for the Creative Court UK project and will also have the opportunity to visit the Museum’s ‘Right to Vote’ exhibition. They will hear about the work that the Museum is planning over the coming months and the importance of funded projects to the wider organisation.
Please join us for drinks and canapes from 6.00pm.
