This accessible creative workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of hand lettering, teaching you how to use a dip pen with a flexible nib, make basic strokes, and form letters in a distinctive copperplate style. By the end of the workshop you'll have the skills to begin writing confidently in beautiful script lettering.
Meticulous Ink’s in-house hand lettering expert Athena Cauley-Yu will set you up and give you the tools and techniques needed to be able to form your own individual style.
Each pupil will receive upon arrival:
1 x Nib holder
1 x Flexible copperplate nib
5 x Meticulous Ink calligraphy practice sheets
1 x Meticulous Ink Hand lettering guidesheet
1 x Pot of Meticulous Ink
Meticulous Ink is a traditional printer and stationers based in Bath, UK. Owned by Athena Cauley-Yu, stationery designer and hand letterer, who set out in 2010 to offer a completely bespoke traditional printing service with her tiny team of stationery obsessives.
As well as the bespoke printing service, they also offer a delightful range of Meticulous Ink own brand paper goods, all designed and printed on site at their studio in Bath, Somerset.
Athena has been running hand lettering workshops for 4 years, teaching all how to write in a copperplate style - and giving you all you need to practice until you have enviously beautiful writing.
