Sobar Social is a FREE event held at Café Sobar on the last Friday of every month. Make Sobar Social a part of your night out and join us for a breathtaking night of entertainment from the very best of handpicked talent from the Nottingham creative scene.
We at the Sobar are very proud to bring you a night of entertainment from the heart of the city. This event is a perfect opportunity for creative types to show off their talent in our open mic before the main event starts with action from our line up. If you are interested in performing on our open mic please arrive early to avoid disappoinment.
There will be 50% OFF our menu between 6pm - 7pm.
BLESSING MAGORE
Zimbabwean Afro-Funk/Reggae Fusion Singer-Songwriter based in Nottingham UK.
Blessing Magore is a 20 year old Zimbabwean Musician who moved to the UK at the age of 17.
He started playing at his local church, then with other Nottingham based musicians.
Since then Blessing has become known for his conscious lyrics and energetic performance style.
Blessing's passion for music started at the age of 5. As he was growing up he learnt various instruments from guitar, piano& drums to marimba and mbira. He gained his music experience over the years as a session musician playing for different artistes and bands at various events around Zimbabwe.
Blessing Magore and his amazing band is definitely one to listen out for in 2017!
ACHILLES HEEL
Brothers in arms with a medley of acoustic moods, styles and genres
The Nottingham based brotherly duo Achilles Heel make their debut performance at Sobar Social.
The Scottish born duo will be tributing their set to their late uncle Charlie.
JUST JUDE
Part of the interactive singing and kora workshop for children and adults BeatFeet Ltd that offers Drumming, Dance and World Music Workshops.
Just Jude is a local musician with a passion for World Music.
