Just outside of Leicester City Centre at the heart of the community is Gorse Hill City Farm.
This working farm is a registered charity that looks after over 100 animals across 20 acres. Visitors can meet all the residents and learn all about taking care of them! In 2011 the farm also became a Rare Breed Survival Trust (RBST) approved city farm looking after rare or native breeds of pigs, coats, cattle and sheep. Animal feed can also be bought to give to the smaller members of the farm family!
Take a walk around the wildlife garden and pond and then let the children play in the outdoor play area while you unpack the picnic! There’s a gift shop with plenty of pocket money items to purchase and an education room that’s available to hire.
