The Philharmonia Orchestra joins with Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service for an concert celebrating the extraordinary achievements of the music service over the last 70 years.
This ambitious new commission offers music lovers the opportunity to experience the full forces of a massed choir, orchestral ensemble, steel pans, sitar players of over 250 young people from across the city and county alongside members of the Philharmonia: a seamless blend that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the local area.
Legend of the Sky is an epic musical reimagining of the ancient Leicestershire folk legend, The Griffin of Griffydam, a tale of a fabulous creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion who frightened the villagers of Griffydam.
